ABOUT
Abby West (she/they) is a Chicago-based freelancer working in both theatre and film.
She began working in theatre at the age of nine as an actor.
After working as a performer for over seven years, they switched from performance to tech and design.
They moved to Chicago in 2019 to attend The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she received a BFA in Scene Design.
While formally trained as a Scenic Designer, Abby also has a passion for scenic art and painting. As a scenic artist, she has worked in a variety of locations, from Chicago to West Virginia. In 2022, they spent a few months studying scenic art in London with the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama.
After graduation, she began working on various short film sets, mostly as a Set Decorator and in various other Art Department and Production Assistant roles.
