ABOUT
Abby West (she/they) is a Chicago-based scenic artist and designer, originally hailing from Nashville, TN.
She began working in theatre at the age of nine as an actor.
After working as a performer for over seven years, she switched from performance to tech and design.
She moved to Chicago in 2019 to attend The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she received a BFA in Scene Design.
While formally trained as a Scenic Designer, Abby also has a passion for scenic art and painting. As a scenic artist, she has worked in a variety of locations, from Chicago to West Virginia. In 2022, she spent a few months studying scenic art in London, with the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama.
Over the last year, she began working in the art department on various short film sets, and she looks forward to continuing to gain more experience

Abby now lives and works in Chicago, IL; working as a freelance scenic artist and in various production design roles.
